Oscars 2009 Best and Worst Dressed
THE BAD:

This belted Zuhair Murad gown makes Miley Cyrus look like an aquatic creature. The fabric looks too heavy as if it were layered with fins.

Jessica Biel’s Prada dress was a disappointment for fashion police. Often noted for her hot bod, this frumpy draping gives her no shape at all.

I’m not a big fan of black and gold together. Too much of that color combo could end up looking really tacky. Beyonce’s choice of dress looked like it could’ve been designed by Baby Phat.

At first glance, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Dior couture gown looked decent, but then I couldn’t shake the resemblance after I heard fashion commentators remark that she was reminiscent of Glenda the good witch.

I can’t remember animal print ever being a hit on any red carpet.
THE GOOD:

Taraji P. Henson looked heavenly in a creamy cascade of elegant soft pleated ruffles designed by Roberto Cavalli .

I love that Penelope Cruz chose to wear a vintage Balmain gown. She’s definitely channeling that old Hollywood elegance.

I thought Marisa Tomei looked a glowing vision in this pearly silver Versace gown intricately lined in a multitude of asymmetrical pleating.

Angelina is the perfect example of owning any dress she puts on instead of letting the dress wear her. She would probably be just as stunning in a paper bag. The dress is nothing special, but I love how her emerald jewels completely offset this simple black Elie Saab gown.

Don’t you just love her hairstyle and the back of it?

I thought I’d save the best for last. Here are my 2 winners of the evening, both coincidentally in shades of pink.

Alicia Keys and Natalie Portman - weren’t they red carpet goddesses and oh so pretty in pink?!
Whose Oscar night look did you love/hate? Who wore your favorite gowns of the evening?
